We are delighted to be hosting Sunday Best an exhibition of portraits and sound recordings exploring notions of personal identity and its relationship to community through dress.
The work examines how we dress for specific occasions, what this says about who we are, how we identify with those around us and how we present ourselves to the world.
Jonathan and Tim have spent the last year capturing people in their Sunday Best in the Burngreave area of the city. The combination of Jonathan's photographs and Tim's sound recordings present us with a selection of Sheffield people viewed within the context of their community.
The resulting exhibition is a lively and vibrant distillation of the hundreds of images taken during these community shoots; revelaing a world of colour, texture and gesutre.
