Persistence Works

Paul Evans is a contemporary artist specialising in public engagement and socially engaged practise, with particular expertise in producing high quality SciArt and heritage-based projects. He offers a unique approach to commissions, drawing out enthusiasm from those he works with and creating world-class art that reaches the hearts and minds of a myriad of diverse audiences.

He has an exceptional track record in this field, having won a number of awards for his work including the NCCPE Engage Award (2014) and the Times Higher Education Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community (2017). He has worked with many leading institutions including Wellcome Trust, BBC, The University of Sheffield, Cardiff University, The University of Manchester and University of Lincoln. Often working in collaboration with leading designers, poets and other artists, his work varies in scope from virtual reality constructs to public events.

He has earned a high standard of recognition for his studio-based painting practice, having won the Eyestorm Gallery Award for Painting, Exeter Contemporary Open 2007. His paintings have featured in a number of prestigious publications including ‘Nature Morte’ by Michael Petry (Thames and Hudson 2013).
