Stars on Starting Out: FREE TALK SERIES

We’re delighted to have partnered with Sheffield Hallam University to produce Stars on Starting Out, an exciting aspect of Catalyst: Festival of Creativity.

Stars on Starting Out aims to encourage and support emerging and progressing artists, makers, creative businesses and anyone with an interest in visual arts, architecture and design.

Four inspirational high-profile guest speakers, including Paul Simmons, designer and co-founder of Timorous Beasties, ceramicist Kate Malone and artists Jessica Voorsanger and Alex Chinneck, will discuss their careers to date, exploring successful strategies for starting out in the creative industries.

Each guest speaker has been paired with a successful local artist or maker, who’ll discuss their practice and starting out in the industry. The talks will be followed by a Q&A session and an informal networking opportunity over drinks.
