Readiness & Resilience Training with Sarah Spanton-5th Nov

Yorkshire Artspace is hosting this engaging day-long training seminar led by experienced artist, arts consultant and trainer Sarah Spanton, director of Waymarking.  Tailor-made for creative practitioners, arts and cultural professionals across all art form areas, there are a maximum of 15 places benig offered at a special subsidised rate of £20.00. Teas and coffees provided but please bring a lunch item to share.

This seminar offers concrete approaches to developing your practice/arts career to higher levels of resilience, readiness, adaptability and strength. It is contextualised by Waymarking’s assertion that artists/creative professionals are part of the society they inhabit, and that they have invaluable skills to offer society – especially in today’s turbulent economic times. This will be a highly participatory, friendly and inclusive day, kicked off with a presentation to stimulate thinking for the day. The training will take place through active contemplation and discussion using innovative practical exercises and exclusive visual tools and resources. You will work as a group and individually to develop your agility, value your skills differently, explore the relationship between artistic practice and activism, develop a deeper understanding of successful partnership working and re-contextualise or re-position your practice. You will develop new techniques and competencies to help you become more resilient, able to adapt and be at the ready.
