Our Organisation

Yorkshire Artspace is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, run by a team of six members of staff and governed by a Board of Directors.

The Society is a membership organisation owned by its members and all Board meetings are open for members to attend.

MEMBERSHIP

Anyone can be a member of Yorkshire Artspace: you must be a member to take on a studio, but the majority of services are open to non-members.

The Society aims to have a 50:50 balance of fine artists and craftspeople as studio holders. Visit the Artists pages to find out more about those based at Yorkshire Artspace.

BOARD MEMBERS

From 1 April 2017 our chair has been Neil MacDonald, former Master Cutler, board member of several other key organisations in the city and well networked within local and regional manufacturing.

Other board members include Professor Sally Wade, Director of the Sheffield Institute of Arts at Sheffield Hallam University, Paul Houghton, senior partner at Grant Thornton, Surriya Falconer of Falconer Associates, a Sheffield-based PR & Communications company that represents both public and private sector organisations and Dorrien Peters, partner at Irwin Mitchell.

STAFF MEMBERS

We have 6 members of staff; Director Kate Dore (part time) who leads on organisational development; Operations Manager Stuart Wright (full time) who manages all our premises plus the finances with support from Administrator Anita Lloyd; Programme Manager Rachael Dodd (part time) who develops and manages the Programme; Jane Elliot (part time) who is responsible for Communcations and Programme Administration and Becky Heath, our Creative Apprentice overseeing front of house at Exchange Place Studios and adding to our social media and marketing knowledge.
