Morvarid is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist whose work is related to the body and metal. Drawing inspiration from her identity, culture, and background, Morvarid challenges understandings of material culture and creates interactive artwork from metal.
She is fascinated in using the 'noble metals' in a way that is both performative and emotional, which she integrates into her forms. Beyond metalwork, her practice also spans performance art, installation, moving images and photography as tools for self-exploration.
Morvarid graduated with her MA Jewellery and Metal from the Royal College of Art (with a Behrens Foundation scholarship) in 2022. After her studies, she spent one year at Bishospland Educational Trust and won the Jane Goodman Award. She graduated with a first-class honours BA in Jewellery and Objects from Birmingham City University.
