Persistence Works

Ideas are at the core of Jon Cannon's work. He looks for unexpected connections and strong concepts to make potentially challenging ideas as accessible as possible, without losing depth and meaning. Each piece he creates is a small gesture contributing to a larger narrative—a sentence formed from the vocabulary of the everyday.

Jon's work often adopts the visual language of graphic design, but it is rooted in conceptual exploration and personal expression. It follows themes of identity, brand, tribalism and value systems in culture and society. He is interested in how people and objects can be used to represent these complex ideas, investigating how symbols get their meaning and power.

Jon is drawn to ideas that balance depth with surface aesthetics, exploring philosophical themes that sometimes manifest in playful forms. This duality reflects a sensitivity and vulnerability that he embraces in his work, challenging the tendency in society to censor these aspects of ourselves.
