Hanne Westergaard's current ceramics practice sees her working on individual, smaller pieces of sculptures. The shapes are mostly organic, inspired by nature. Her materials and colours are what she calls "winter colours", predominantly featuring white, black and grey. Some of Hanne's larger pieces are suitable for placing outdoors in a garden environment.
Hanne often uses porcelain and likes to bring out its 'whiteness' and translucency. More recently, she has also made a small seres titled "Sheffield Historic Heritage". The series features plaster casts from metal covers in pavements, recreating them in stoneware and porcelain.
