We're Hiring: Multi-Skilled Tradesperson

Yorkshire Artspace is seeking an experienced and multi-skilled tradesperson, who will carry out the maintenance of Yorkshire Artspace’s two multi-occupancy art studio buildings, helping us achieve enviable standards of presentation, health and safety and security.

These buildings are Persistence Works, built in 2001 as the first purpose-built artist studios in the UK; and Exchange Place Studios, a 1930s art deco department store given new life in 2013. Home to 170 contemporary artists, designers and makers, each with varied creative practices, Arts Council England describes us as “one the leading artist studio providers in Europe”. Click here to find out more about our studios.

You will carry out minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks across our buildings and grounds, carry out renovations and improvement of spaces, check the functionality of safety systems and carry out a testing regime, as well as providing practical support with set up for venue hire and events.

We are searching for a proactive team player with experience of multiple trades in a building maintenance environment, who can work collaboratively with the rest of our small team and enjoy working in a studio environment. You will have practical skills including basic plumbing, understanding electrics, painting and basic joinery. You will value people as individuals and have a genuine commitment to resolving issues and delivering excellent service.
