The Bridge
Leonardo Da Vinci was a polymath. He used his genius to connect necessity with utility, beauty with desire. His simple bridge design consists of interlocking poles, which rely on gravity for stability. It can be made by anyone from simple components to cross an obstacle. Bridges can connect, avoid and inspire - they are a very human means of removing barriers. Eight Sheffield Artists were invited to think about bridges in the execution of their own very disparate practises.
They are:
Neal Heppleston - Luthier
Giles Grover - Laser Artist
Krishna Alegeswaran - Ceramics
Frances Lewis - Print
Rachel Durance - Fine Art
Jen Ricketts - Silversmith
Mark Evans - Painter
Henk Littlewood - Wood
