STUDIO 54 at Yorkshire Artspace

COMING SOON - Studio 54 at Yorkshire Artspace is a brand new on-line professional development platform aimed at people working in visual arts, crafts and design.  It will be launched in October 2013 but you can already sign up to our mailing list studio54ya.org.uk to keep up to date with ongoing developments.

The website will link artists with artists and experts in different fields to share knowledge, learn from tips offered, swap stories, see videos and listen to invited speakers for our webinar programme.

Some of the site will be free to access.  The other area will accommodate our Starting Out course, the popular start-up course we have been running successfully for 7 years at Persistence Works Studios and that, we hope, will be more accessible to a wider cohort of artists, craftspeople and designer-makers as an on-line course with live webinars, course work and feedback.  We will of course keep this affordable to people who are in an early stage in their career development.

We are very proud to already have on board some very knowledgeable experts in the field of professional development and business start up support such as:

Alison Branagan is author of some of the best read and rated books for artists and designers who want to start out in business such as 'The Essential Guide to Business for Artists and Designers'.

Pete Mosley is a highly regarded advisor for Craft & Design magazine, business trainer and mentor as well as author of 'Make Your Creativity Pay' and

Patricia van den Akker is the Director at The Design Trust where she  and her extensive network of artists and advisors share their tips and stories with hundreds of artists and designers.

At Studio 54 we aim to expand the people on our panel of experts over the next couple of months to include legal and financial advisors, curators and exhibition organisers, experts from trade and industry.  You can sign up at the holding page of our website www.studio5ya.org.uk
