We are delighted to announce the six artists who will be exhibiting new work as part of our brand new Ways of Making exhibition programme in the gallery at Persistence Works: Roanna Wells, Peter Griffiths, Catherine Dee, Andrew Hunt, Mir Jansen and Penny Withers. These artists were drawn from the talented pool of artists and makers from Yorkshire Artspace and the wider Sheffield contemporary art / craft scene. Our Ways of Making exhibitions form part of Making Ways, a new programme supported by Sheffield Culture Consortium through Arts Council England to showcase, celebrate and develop the exceptional contemporary visual art produced in the city.
For us this exciting new programme marks a return for us of curating new work in this key space in Sheffield city centre and bringing it to new audiences. The series of exciting exhibitions over the next two years will feature ceramics, fine art, painting, wood working, sculpture and even a plant sale!
First to use the space will be Roanna Wells. She will be using the Persistence Works Gallery as a live project space throughout June and July. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates about her project before her exhibition opening on 6th June.
