Laura Page presents a series of photographic portraits and stories of people from across the UK, reimagining ageing and defying stereotypes of what it is to be older. The project has won a Vassie Award and was covered by the BBC, and is now being exhibited for the first time.
More than 30 photographic portraits will be shown in our Persistence Works gallery, while a second exhibition at Lab4Living will showcase a series of short films alongside artwork made in community workshop sessions. Among the communities Laura has worked with are Roshni South Asian elders, encouraging them to explore their views on ageism and reframe the ways they see themselves.
A celebration event on 25th March will close the exhibition, featuring food, drink and musical performances by some of the people Laura has photographed for the project. It will also include a panel discussion, exploring the theme "Reimagining Ageing & The Power of the Image". BOOK NOW
