Creative Card making with Lyn Carruthers

Produce your own unique individually hand-made cards with artist Lynn Carruthers at Porter Brook Studios.

Lynn is running 3 Tueday evening workshop from 7pm to 9.30pm at £25.00 each (£17.50 concessions): A Stitch in Time will take place on Tuesday evening 25th September, incorporating stitching and weaving techniques; Making Your Mark takes place on Tuesday 2nd October where Lynn will demonstrate how everyday items can help you make your mark and print; and A Cut Above takes place on 10th October where she will show you cutting and sticking techniques.

Lynn will run the same 3 workshops as day session from 10am to 4pm at £35.00 each (£25.00 concessions). A Stitch in Time on Saturday 22th September, Making Your Mark on Tuesday 2nd October, A Cut Above on Sunday 7th October. (Refreshments will be provided but bring your own lunch)

The informal workshops will be structured, friendly and fun. Porter Brook Studios is located on 1 Sydney Street, S1 4RG (opposite Persistence Works Studios) A selection of tools and materials will be provided. You will be supported and encouraged to develop your creative ideas and processes and all the techniques learned can be used at home with materials easily and cheaply sourced. Booking essential! Mosaic Courses with Coralie Turpin

Coralie Turpin has 20 years experience of working on public art projects with schools and communities, fabricators and architects, public art officers and commissioning agencies.  She has lead many creative art workshops, specialising in mosaic, sculpture and textile art alongside exhibiting her work in many galleries across the UK.  This spring/summer Coralie will be running three different mosaic courses:

Beginners Mosaic Course is a 2-day course teaching you the 'direct' method with cutting and laying techniques.  The course costs £170 and includes all materials.

Advanced Mosaic Course is a 2-day course teaching you the 'reverse' method with laying and applying techniques.  This course also costs £170 with all materials included

Pebble Mosaic Course is a 2-day course teaching 'direct' and 'reverse' method and slab casting.  You will produce 2 mosaics and this course costs £180 with all materials included.  

The course is likely to run on Wednesdays and Thursdays or Saturday and Sundays.  For a booking form and further details please contact Coralie directly.  You will need to bring packed lunch, apron (or old clothes) and a pair of sunglasses as at least two design ideas.
