Clay Space

Clay Space is our supported studio for early-career ceramicists.

The supportive community and low-cost rent provide a safety net, giving you the freedom to explore your practice, take risks, and pursue your own goals in a self-directed way. Our dedicated Kiln Technician is responsible for kiln maintenance and repair, allowing you to focus on your own creative and professional development. You will be responsible for firing your own work and will receive a full kiln induction when joining the studio, as well as continued support and advice.

We currently have two spaces available in Clay Space, starting 01/10/2022. The successful applicant will join current Clay Space residents Cristina Cerulli and Nichola Gensler.

We are looking for new members who already have some knowledge and experience of ceramics and who are able to work independently; you will be responsible for all aspects of making your work including the firing process. The ideal candidate will work well in a communal environment, working with fellow studio members to maintain a respectful shared studio culture.

You are invited to visit Clay Space during our Open Day on Friday 22nd July, between 12:00 and 16:00. This open day is an opportunity to explore the facilities, chat with current residents and ask any questions you may have. Current Clay Space residents have produced a short welcome video below to give you an idea of the space. Please email Rachael Dodd to arrange your visit:
