Clay Space

Clay Space is our supported studio for early-career ceramicists.

Offering 24/7 access to a shared studio facility at subsidised rates, open use of three electric kilns, as well as support from a dedicated Kiln Technician, Clay Space supports ambitious and talented ceramicists to transition into a fully independent studio practice. The offer is for a maximum of three years.

The supportive community and low-cost rent provide a safety net, giving you the freedom to explore your practice, take risks, and pursue your own goals in a self-directed way. Our dedicated Kiln Technician is responsible for kiln maintenance and repair, allowing you to focus on your own creative and professional development. You will be responsible for firing your own work and will receive a full kiln induction when joining the studio, as well as continued support and advice.

Clay Space provides:

  • 24/7 access to equipped studio
  • free Wi-Fi and utilities (including all electric firings)
  • access to 3 electric kilns for firing work
  • support and advice from our Kiln Technician
