In November 2015 Yorkshire Artspace and Sheffield City Council appointed arts collective Glassball to create an artwork for the hoardings around the former Castle Market site in the historic Castlegate area of Sheffield.
Glassball have now drafted some initial artwork schemes, which even at this stage forefront the conversations, comments, quotes & quips that have emerged from their public events along with historical images from their extensive research of the archives and imagery created by the children at Manor Lodge.
Here’s a first sneak peek at some images from the hoardings artwork which will form a part of phase one of the installation set to take place in March 2016.
There will be a staged installation of the artwork: this will enable people to see part of the artwork in-situ and there be a period where they are invited to contribute ideas, comments, stories and images to inform the artwork content for the next two phases of installation.
