Print Making with print maker Neil Woodall
Persistence Works Studios - Saturday 14th, 21st and 28th September. 10am to 4pm Cost: £35
These printmaking workshops generally start with a demonstration of dry-points engraving: drawing onto a plastic plate by scratching with a sharp point. This simple process can result in some wonderful, subtle images and is a great way to loosen your drawing methods and gain an introduction to the process of intaglio printing. We then start working on a copper plate. The process used depends on the images that we work with. Neil likes to introduce people to aquatint as it is the trickiest technique to learn but, in his words " produces the most beautiful tones and shades".
The workshop costs £35, including a 6" x 4" etching plate and paper for proofing and printing the finished plates. It should be possible for you to take away two prints at the end of the workshop. Remember to wear something you don't mind getting dirty as there is a lot of ink and grease in an etching workshop. Workshop participants meets outside the gates at the front of Yorkshire Artspace at 10am. To book your place and/or request further information, contact Neil direct by email neil_woodall@hotmail.com or phone 07963862527
