Opening in July 2010, Manor Oaks Studios offers 4 large new, purpose built and eco-designed studio spaces that have been developed in partnership with Green Estate. Green Estate is part of the family of third sector organisations that operate from the Manor and Castle areas in South Sheffield, with the aim to regenerate the area in line with their sustainable agenda. They are in the process of creating an inspiring and valued urban ‘estate’, a place where all open space is transformed and managed in a way that protects and enhances the local heritage, demonstrates environmental excellence and delivers social justice for current and future generations.
The studios in this historical setting, less than two miles south east of the city centre, are particularly suitable for artists working in crafts or applied arts. Accessed through a Chelsea award-winning garden facilities include free parking, a service block, and other on-site developments include café/shop, heritage skills centre and a visitors’ centre. Studio sizes range from 269 sq ft (shared) to 807 sq ft charged at £6 per sq ft per annum. Heat and power are charged in addition based on usage.
