Knutton Road Studios are being developed in partnership with Southey Owlerton Area Regeneration, as part of the SOAR Works Project that is due to open in Summer 2010. This is a brand new building in Parson cross that will occupy the site of the former council works depot on Knutton Road behind Margetson Crescent. A key aim of the development as a whole is to help local people start new businesses by providing affordable accommodation and business support and advice. Yorkshire Artspace will run the artist studio complex situated within the building, which will comprise north facing units, situated on the top floor with natural skylights. Facilities include free parking, communal spaces and access to business services. This complex is situated with easy access to the M1 and the A61North and the studios are particularly suitable for more quieter visual arts practices.
