New programme for 2011

Since 2005 Yorkshire Artspace has run a residency programme, offering selected artists access to space, time and money to develop new lines of enquiry or create new work. In general, each resident artists has 24/7 access to a workspace and receives a fee and a production budget.  We can offer further support with accommodation and/or travel if required.

Over the last 5 years, this programme enabled us to work in close collaboration with partner organisations with whom we devise a range of complementary activities to enable public access, community engagement and artist professional development. Overall the programme has supported Yorkshire Artspace to raise its profile regionally, nationally and internationally.

All our residencies are documented and the publications produced to date can be downloaded from this page (see download box on right hand side). The publications include details and images of each residency, essays by guest writers, and details of accompanying events. If you would like to receive a hard a copy of these publications, please email us at mir@artspace.org.uk

We are currently developing a new residency programme in connection with our new studio sites at Manor Oaks and Parson Cross and will not host residencies during 2010.  From January 2011 onwards we will start a new residency programme which will be closely linked to new starter studio programmes at the new sites.  Adverts will be placed in Frieze, Ceramic Review and a-n magazine's September 2010 issues.
