First update from artist Emilie Taylor about her forthcoming project supported through a YA Microgrant:

A conversation I had at the Yorkshire Artspace Open Studios event last Nov sparked by one of my ceramic bowls, (the bowl contained a passage from Leviticus- part of the Old Testament), has now become a working partnership between myself and Dr Casey Strine, Research Fellow at the Dept. of Biblical Studies, University of Sheffield.

Casey brings his interest in forced migration and Sheffield as a City of Sanctuary, combined with an interest in how this might relate to passages in the Old Testament. I am keen to explore the vessel, and its capacity to contain or to hold in this context.  We have exchanged texts, (themes have been framed space and ritual), and we are using reflection and discussion to establish how we will work together before we begin to work with others.
