If you're looking for unusual, handmade gifts this Christmas, artists from Yorkshire Artspace's Exchange Place Studios have something for you, whatever your budget. There will be a glittering Christmas Pop Up Shop open throughout the festive period in Exchange Place Studios near Victoria Quays. Some extra special jewellery by up-and-coming silversmiths Daisy Lee-Overton, Suzanne Berry and Francisca Onumah, will be on sale alongside original artwork including fused glass by Debra Burrell, ceramics by Krishna Alageswaran, and cards, paintings, textiles, and prints from Lizzy Alageswaran, Lyn Carruthers, Amanda Wells and others.
‘This will be our fourth Christmas event, and it is definitely making its way on to lots of Christmas lists – people know that there will be really high-quality items but lots of original and quirky stocking fillers too.’ said painter and textile artist Lizzy. ‘We always have a range of prices, so everyone can find something original for a few pounds but also splash out if they want to.’
Alongside the shop, artists will be running some weekend Christmas family workshops including in making lanterns and decorations, and jewellery making with Giles Kozdon.
The Shop is open 9 – 22nd December 11am – 5.30, late opening till 8pm Thursdays 14th an 21st December. Preview 8th December 6.30 – 9pm
