Programme
Public access to our studios, artists and their work is enabled through two annual Open Studio events and a dynamic self-funded exhibition programme. We have a long history of professional development, education and exhibition activity, offering a professional development service to visual artists in the region.
Programming took a real step forward with the opening of Persistence Works and the opportunities presented by the new project spaces and funding for launch events, including a series of commissions that form the fabric of the building, a precious metal collection that is now in the private collection of the Sheffield Assay Office, an extensive Education and Outreach Programme, and the Starter Studio/Starting Out Programme for new visual arts businesses.
Programming ambitions have been maintained since the new building opened and the Artist in Residence Programme, launched in 2005, forms the heart of a wide-ranging programme of activity that encompasses professional development as well as community engagement and public events.
The programme as a whole has enabled the organisation to raise its profile regionally, nationally and internationally.
